R is for Reading List

As new voices emerge, it is good to remember where we started from.

Below find Youtube links for an interview based upon Warren Farrell's 'The Myth of Male Power'. Warren comes from a different generation than I, a generation that lived with more of the positive aspects of women's liberation.

I live in a world where those aspects have been digested, legalized and are assumed. If a woman wants a job, wants to join the team, wants equal pay for equal work - she gets it, and has a legal basis for it, and legal recourse if she doesn't get it. But negative aspects of feminism have balooned, and at the expense of men, and few of the old inequities have been redressed.

So it is very worthwhile listening to Warren - and remembering that since this interview, things have gotten much, much worse for men. Warren saw a brave new recasting of the gender roles that liberated both sexes emerging. Instead we have a brave new world of male servitude, second-class citizenry, and slavery, with women having all the options and men having all the state-enforced obligations.

Warren Farrell, a former feminist that came to a much deeper realization on how society works. I've read most of Warren Farrell's books, especially "The Myth of Male Power", and I must say that he makes a huge point when it comes to how women perceive men. Feminism has flown far from its goals, and its intentions are becoming far from just a cry for equality. By the way, thank you for posting the video on Warren Farrell's interview.

Warren Farrell's "The Myth of Male Power" is a must read. Thanks for mentioning Warren Farrell. The perception of feminists about Warren Farrell is pretty vague. They accuse him of being a bitter ex-profeminist, and yet the reasons that the feminist movement was created was due to their bitterness on how society treated or represented them. The whole concept of feminism centers itself on equality, and yet everything they have accomplish and are fighting for is like a one-sided coin. Feminists, please don't get me wrong. As a woman myself, I believe in female empowerment, but if a movement shows any hint of being bias and finger-pointing, then I would rather not have any part in it.
